It's not Wednesday yet but I have a big confession: I've lost my Fitness mojo. I haven't been exercising, my eating habits are redonkulous, and I've gained a bunch of fatty weight over the past few months.
I told myself that I would start exercising and working out again in the mornings since Joey's new work schedule causes me to wake up a lot earlier, but even though I'm awake at 4:30am my bed is just too comfortable and turning on Netflix is just so much easier.
I was proud of myself for drinking more water recently, so I realized I should start eating healthier snacks and downsizing my portions a little. But we celebrated Merizo's fiesta (which I'll post about later this week) on Sunday and the food was too good to pass up. And though I vowed I would eat better Monday, the smell of barbecued meat was too much for me to handle so this happened:
I can't just wait for motivation to strike anymore. It's about damn time I take responsibility for my unhealthy actions because my body, mood, and skin are suffering from it. I know this is going to be a pain in the ass, but it needs to be done. Though I can't give up bacon or cheese or coffee, I can trade my potato chips for apple chips and my candies to almonds. It's a start, right?
Any little effort I make will only benefit me, so I'm going to drag my ass out of bed in the mornings and get a good sweat worked up to start my day - after sex, of course. And you're more than welcome, in fact I invite you, to call my ass out on it. Tweet me, or leave me a comment (or tag) on Instagram to remind/motivate me to get the fuck up and get shit done.
Now tell me: Do you need a fit kick too? What exercise/workout programs have you tried? What do you do to curb your cravings? What is your favorite workout song?
the hardest part is starting...it's like that for EVERYONE. it's hard because you're changing your habits (breaking old ones) and starting new ones (waking early, exercising, eating clean etc). changing habits is never easy so make up a routine for yourself and repeat those activities at the same times every day for 4 consecutive weeks. that's how long it takes the human body to adapt new habits. what you're essentially doing is setting your internal clock to these new activities. it'll suck at first but over time, you'll just get up and do them to a point that when you *don't* do it, it'll feel weird and that's when you know your new habits have formed.

Girl Ive felt the same way but this week I started back and I feel great. As Kathy said above, once you start back you'll get back into it with no questions asked.
ReplyDeleteYoure not alone my twin, its hard for anyone. But you always can pick yourself up and try to start up again. I swear warren and joey are twins too. Sucks that our men have to wake up hella early for work. I only have a month left of this 4:30am-12:30pm shift. and so looking forward to summer break.
ReplyDeleteNow I have to job hunt now. Keep it up! You still look amazing!

I've been struggling with eating well in the worstttt way lately. Bah.
ReplyDeleteI've been a little lazy this weekend. I didn't do my walking yesterday, because I was cleaning my brother's room. I don't know if cleaning is considered a workout, but by the time I had finished, I was sweaty, and tired.
