Mid-December

This month has been a doozy so far and we're only halfway through it.  Started the month off with surgery to remove my gallbladder and almost went crazy not being able to do much for a few days afterwards.  Honestly, being at home and not being able to do the things you want to do is maddening if you're a busybody like me.  Couldn't clean, couldn't take out the trash, couldn't rearrange the furniture, couldn't do much of anything besides napping, reading, and Netflix.  Chloe, my 8-year-old, was my nurse during my recovery and I was constantly getting scolded by her.  It was annoying yet entertaining at the same time.  Thankfully, it only took me three days until I was able to move around and do things without much pain so she's off my back.

Christmas this year is creeping up fast and we've only just finished putting up our tree two days ago (see picture above).  And I've we've only just started getting gifts yesterday.  I'm so behind.  Last year I was on point, this year I'm just trying to keep my shit together.  Hopefully next year I'll do better.

Currently...

Eating |  This microwaveable quinoa and brown rice w/ garlic packs.  My dad sent me a couple to try out last month and I've been obsessed with it.  He sent me a full box of it last week and I don't think I've ever been more excited.  I've also passed my obsession on to my coworkers who have ordered boxes of their own.  It's that good.

Drinking |  Lots of water, apple juice, and coffee.  I've only just been able to drink coffee again without discomfort and I'm so happy.  Not being able to get my caffeine fix was making me very irritable.

Watching |  Grey's Anatomy, The Addams Family,  and Moana.  I made the kids watch The Addams Family and they loved it.  We also watched Moana twice this month and it is such a great movie!  Now the kids are torn between dressing up as the Addams Family or the characters from Moana for next Halloween.  Hmm...

Buying |  All the Christmas gifts.  Just ordered a shit ton of stuff online and hoping it'll get here on time.  I told you I'm horrible this year.

Reading |  I finished the last Harry Potter book (Deathly Hallows) and Good as Gone earlier this month.  Now I'm in the middle of reading What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Hypothetical Questions.

Listening to |  All the Christmas stations on Pandora, Solange's A Seat at the Table, and the songs from Moana that the kids keep playing and singing along to.

Wearing |  Leggings, t-shirts and simple dresses.  Wonderland Honolulu had a huge $10 sale last month (still going on right now) and I scooped up a bunch of things I'd been coveting.  Hoping I'll have some $$ left after Christmas to order more.

Stressing over |  Not being able to workout.  I can't really push myself for another few weeks because of the surgery and it's driving me crazy.  I can't wait until I'm able to run and workout again!

Obsessed with | Chrissy Teigen.  Her style, her personality, her everything!  Love it all.

Planning for |  A productive and prosperous 2017.  2016 grounded me a bit so I'm working on keeping my goals attainable and making improvements little by little to make the most of the situations I'm faced with.

Dreaming of |  Eyelash extensions and microblading my brows.  I'd had eyelash extensions before that were done horribly so I've been against them since that experience, but I'm thinking of getting them again.  Also REALLY want my brows microbladed but it just costs so much!  I mean, it's good for about a year (give or take) but $500 is a big chunk of change to fork out for some eyebrows.

Looking forward to |  Being able to jump in the ocean again, seeing the smiles on the faces of my kids on Christmas, all the holiday parties (mostly food), and (of course) 2017!
