Since the beginning of August I had been itching for the kids to go back to school. This is Trace's first year in school (Kindergarten, whoop whoop!) and the first time that ALL three of the kids are in school. Now that the kids are getting used to the schedule (wake up, eat breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed, go to school, do homework, clean up, eat dinner, shower, get to bed, etc.) and doing more things on their own, I'm slowly finding more time to do things for myself.
Now don't get me wrong, I love my kids and Joey. I'd do anything for them. But a lot of times, when you're a mother or a wife or both, you kinda get so caught up in that role that you forget that you're still YOU. Between work, kids, cooking, cleaning, etc. it's hard to find time to do something totally selfish that doesn't involve making other people happy or wiping butts that aren't your own. Hell, sometimes even taking a shower or dropping a deuce without getting interrupted or having someone screaming for you can seem like a vacation.
This week, after finally dipping my toes back into the blog pool, I was inspired by posts from Lisa and Meagan to reclaim my life as an individual and be a little selfish and create a ME list. Ten things that I want to do just for me:
1// Take a trip somewhere with my sister and cousins, even for just a weekend.
2// Create and sell handmade beachwear (bikinis, kimonos, board shorts, etc.).
3// Join a paddling team/club again.
4// Take dance classes.
5// Generate a source of monthly income from my blog.
6// Sing again. Publicly. Not just in the shower or the car.
7// Have a girls' night and a date night. And then have a lot more.
8// Plan and have my dream wedding.
9// Go back to school and finish my degree and then go back again for another degree in fashion marketing.
10// Be able to live in the moment more. No over-thinking, no freaking out about little things, no stressing out about the future 'what ifs'.
Now it's your turn! What's on your ME list? Link it up over here!!
