Thursday Thoughts: Getting Local

So it came to my attention last week that a few bloggers got the opportunity to visit Guam in November.  They were brought here by the Guam Visitor's Bureau in order to promote our island and the tourism industry on Guam.

On top of their trip, they were given money to spend here on island at various locations so they could write a post about their trip and their purchases during their stay here.  I'm not sure how they went about promoting this event but I didn't hear about it until last week when one of the bloggers who participated posted about it.

Now, most people on Guam don't know what blogging is.  In my blogging experience, I've only come across a handful of other Guam bloggers - most of whom no longer live on Guam or haven't updated their blog in ages.  However, there are some really great bloggers on Guam and I think that we should get an opportunity to promote Guam as well.

So this is my shout-out to all Guam bloggers!  Where you at?!

Heck, I'd love to be offered money and sponsorship from local businesses.  I'd also love to share it with you all you wonderful supportive readers!

So as an add on to my New Year's Resolutions list, I hereby resolve to write more posts about my life on Guam because it really is a beautiful place - no matter how hot it gets!
